Storm-hit banana growers to receive extra $50K in grants after weeks of uncertainty
Storm-stricken banana farmers have cautiously welcomed the Queensland Government’s latest move to increase assistance grants as they battle to recover from the disaster.

- Affected growers should now receive $75,000 in joint state-federal grants
- A local MP says the length of time taken for confirmation of the increase has been concerning
- The Agriculture Minister said he had not heard any pleas for wage subsidies, which growers said were desperately needed for the clean up
