Steve Smith hits a six-bagger with Snappr investment – The Australian Financial Review
The Australian cricketer, who has made a ton on paper with Koala Mattress, has also scored big with his early backing of an Aussie-founded photography marketplace.

‘For the most part we’ve been booming’
Smith met Schiller and Kearney through the same network connected to Sydney co-working space Fishburners, at which he met the founders of Koala Mattress, Mitch Taylor and Daniel Milham. The batsman invested $100,000 in the furniture e-tailer in 2015, before it had a customer, and his stake now has a paper value of $13.7 million.
Schiller says he is ambitious that Snappr will one day surpass Koala as Smith’s best start-up hunch.
