State of Origin 3 knockout: Sundowner Hotel Caboolture scene of alleged one-punch attack

A football fan who died when he was allegedly punched in the face following the State of Origin decider has been identified.

Luke Jay Kenworthy, 49, was watching the game at the Sundowner Hotel in Caboolture on Wednesday night.

Following the match, he was allegedly punched in the face during an altercation and died.

His alleged attacker Joel Michael James Smith, 29, remains in custody.
