Premier Daniel Andrews has declared Victoria a ‘state of disaster’, after another huge spike in the virus death toll and the announcement of a stage 4 lockdown.
Victoria has been declared a “state of disaster” as it recorded another huge spike in COVID-19 cases and deaths, and Premier Daniel Andrews announced the state will be under a stage four lockdown.
It came as Victoria recorded a 671 new virus cases in the past 24 hours, with more seven deaths – six of which were linked to aged care.
“We have to do more and we have to do more right now,” Mr Andrews told a press conference today, as he outlined the tough new stage four restrictions.
