Stargazers will be treated to a once in 800-years spectacle tonight as Saturn and Jupiter align.

The cosmic ‘conjunction’ is so close it will look like a single, extra-bright light – which some are naming the ‘Christmas Star’.

“It’s kind of special. If you’ve only got the naked eye, you’ll see them pretty well. But if you’ve got binoculars or a telescope, they’ll be astonishing. With a telescope, you’ll get them in the same field of view.” – USQ Astronomist, Jonti Horner.
