Sydney’s Rohan Browning has become just the second Australian in history to break the 10-second barrier in the 100-metre sprint, albeit with wind assistance.

The 23-year-old stopped the clock at 9.96 seconds at the Illawarra Track Challenge on Saturday – unsurprisingly also winning his race.
The time is ineligible to be counted for Olympic qualifying because of a +3.3m/s wind behind Brownings back. The maximum wind permitted is two metres per second.
