Rugby league, the hard-man’s game, is synonymous with strength, grit and toughness.
But it’s moments like this that show there’s a whole lot more happening behind the gruff figures of the NRL.
It was one of the highlights of Magic Round when Eels coach Brad Arthur was seen cheering from the coach’s box as son, Jakob, scored his match-sealing try on debut against the Warriors.
It’d be a heartwarming moment for any father, but it was made all the more special by the circumstances under which it occurred.
