SpaceX Dragon Endeavour splashes down in Gulf of Mexico with two NASA astronauts on board – ABC News
The splashdown is a final key test of whether Elon Musk’s spacecraft can transport astronauts to and from orbit, a feat no private company has accomplished before.
Two US astronauts who flew to the International Space Station (ISS) in SpaceX’s space ship have splashed down in the Gulf of Mexico following a two-month voyage.
- The landing marks a successful end to the first crewed NASA mission in nine years
- The astronauts were docked on the International Space Station for about two months
- NASA awarded nearly $US8 billion to SpaceX and Boeing collectively in 2014 to develop space capsules
