The crew on board the CSIRO research vessel Investigator, has captured the moment a meteor flashed brightly as it re-entered Earths atmosphere before breaking down over Tasmanias south coast.
The meteor flashed bright green for bridge crew who spotted the meteor crossing the sky and breaking up over the Tasman Sea at 9.21pm AEDT on Wednesday.
