South-East Queensland on flood watch as state braces for intense rain, strong winds and wild surf this weekend

The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has issued an Initial Flood Watch for South-East Queensland as the state braces for a significant rainfall event that is likely to bring intense falls and wild surf over the weekend.
It comes just one week after southern Queenslanders sweltered through a stifling heatwave that saw record-breaking temperatures in the Warrego, Maranoa and Darling Downs regions.
