Many South Africans are living with undetected tuberculosis (TB), while those who show symptoms delay seeking medical care, a survey has shown.
This is according to the country’s first TB Prevalence Survey Findings released on Friday.
The study estimated that 390 000 people had TB in 2018, with 235 652 notified cases, while 154 348 were “missed TB patients” or undetected.
