Some congressional Democrats are calling for Donald Trump to be removed from office, before president-elect Joe Biden is sworn in on January 20, after the storming of the US Capitol.
The chaos that unfolded in Washington DC on Wednesday local time followed Mr Trump’s address to thousands of protesters, where he repeated unfounded claims that the election was stolen from him.
In the hours since, congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has called to “impeach” the President in a tweet and even a member of Mr Trump’s own party, Republican Phil Scott, asked him to resign.

There has also been some speculation about the 25th Amendment, even with Mr Trump due to finish up his presidency in less than two weeks.
