The Socceroos remain the fourth-highest ranked Asian Football Confederation nation, behind Japan (28), Iran (30) and South Korea (39).
Australia have not played a game since their World Cup qualifying win in Jordan 12 months ago, with the AFC postponing all further qualification games until 2021.
The rankings were still led by Belgium after a stack of matches during the November international window – which included World Cup qualifiers, UEFA Nations League action and European Championship qualifiers.
