Skull found by 5,000-year-old man who had undergone ancient brain surgery…

Archaeologists have discovered the skull of a man who underwent ancient brain surgery 5,000 years ago. Scientists were overwhelmed when they found evidence that the Bronze Age man had been operated on with a stone scalpel at the age of 20.
Notable 3D images and images from the Crimea show traces of trepanation when a hole is intentionally made in the skull.
The operation was unsuccessful, scientists say, and the unfortunate patient lived only a short time after the operation.
