A sharp spike in the number of cases of a little-known disease found in animal urine has Queensland health authorities concerned.
Bacterial disease leptospirosis doesn’t roll off the tongue easily, although if it gets anyone near your tongue you wont be smiling.
The disease is found in urine from infected animals such as rats, mice, cattle, pigs and dogs in predominantly sub-tropical climates.
