Severe storms could bring up to 70mm along east coast

A thunderstorm swept through the Lockyer Valley, west of Brisbane, overnight with damaging wind gusts as it moved east towards the city.
Thousands were left without power across the south-east, with more than 1100 homes affected in Chermside, north of Brisbane, on Tuesday morning.
