Severe storm warning for parts of SEQ, with rain to stay for days
Severe storm cells bringing heavy rainfall and potential flash flooding were surging towards the Gold Coast on Sunday.
A severe weather warning was issued for parts of Logan, the Scenic Rim and Gold Coast, with a heavy and slow-moving storm centred over the coast and hinterland.

The Bureau of Meteorology forecast the storms would batter Coolangatta, Southport and Mount Tamborine about lunchtime on Sunday, with rain to stick around for most of the day.
“Heading into Monday there is a risk of that sort of severe storm activity spreading elsewhere in the south-east, including Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast,” forecaster Jonty Hall said.
