Queensland domestic violence support groups warn the federal government’s cuts to funding and some support programs will have a “catastrophic” effect on survivors of abuse, with lives to be lost and wait list times to go “through the roof”.

Services across Australia received a $150 million funding boost during the coronavirus pandemic to help with a surge in demand from women suffering abuse.

The money, mostly distributed by the states and territories, runs out…
