Services to be cut and ‘lives lost’ in Queensland’s looming domestic violence funding ‘catastrophe’, advocates warn

Queensland domestic violence support groups warn the federal government’s cuts to funding and some support programs will have a “catastrophic” effect on survivors of abuse, with lives to be lost and wait list times to go “through the roof”.

Services across Australia received a $150 million funding boost during the coronavirus pandemic to help with a surge in demand from women suffering abuse.
