Seek reports $111m loss but points to green shoots in China – Sydney Morning Herald
Seek Ltd pointed to signs of a rebound in its China business but conceded it is impossible to accurately forecast the duration or shape of the recovery out of COVID-19.
“Zhaopin was the first to experience the impact of COVID-19 and recovered well in Q4-FY20,” said Seek chief executive Andrew Bassat.
“The resilience of Zhaopin’s H2 FY20 result bodes well for a robust recovery when conditions return to normal.”
But the company was cautious about forecasting how any recovery in Australasia and across its global operations would play out this financial year and which led the company to announce the cancellation of its final dividend last week.
