Scott to sue police for over $100,000 over ‘unlawful’ arrest – Sydney Morning Herald
Neither Christian Welch nor Curtis Scott will not contest the fines handed to them by the NRL but the latter will take his matter back to the courts.

Magistrate Jennifer Giles deemed the arrest “unlawful”. Five of the original seven charges were withdrawn by police after that decision, while Giles dismissed two charges for offensive behaviour, with no conviction recorded.
“Being capsicum sprayed whilst you are handcuffed and not decontaminated for some 19-odd minutes, that’s much worse than anything I can do to you,” Ms Giles said. “Convicting you and fining you would serve absolutely no purpose.”
