Scott Morrison’s newly promoted female cabinet minister Melissa Price overlooked for National Security Committee

She oversees $270 billion worth of military investment, but recently promoted cabinet minister Melissa Price has so far missed out on an invitation to join the powerful National Security Committee of Cabinet (NSC).
Key points:
- Defence Industries Minister Melissa Price was recently returned to Scott Morrison’s cabinet
- Former defence industries minister Christopher Pyne was included in the NSC
- Ms Price said she would be happy to serve on the committee if she was asked
The omission of the Defence Industry Minister from NSC means Western Australia’s representation in the critical ministerial grouping has fallen from three to just one, at a time her home state is fighting to wrestle a lucrative submarine contract from South Australia.
