Scientists create brightest-known fluorescent materials in existence – ABC News
Scientists have discovered a way to turn fluorescent dyes into the brightest fluorescent solids ever made.

Fluoro highlighters, glow-in-the-dark paints or even high-viz witch’s hats are bright, but they are nothing compared to these balls.
Key points:
- Fluorescent dyes lose their glow in solid form
- Chemists have discovered how to stop this happening using a doughnut-shaped molecule
- The discovery could lead to the design of more advanced optical materials to improve solar cells, 3D displays and medical lasers
Scientists in the US and Denmark have created the brigh…
