Cryptocurrency investors have been warned that a website touting a new coin as the official digital currency of Dubai is an elaborate phishing scam after the coins value rose 1000 per cent in 24 hours.
Dubais government has denied any involvement with the currency called DubaiCoin after a website promoting it claimed it was endorsed by the UAE city.
Dubai Coin cryptocurrency was never approved by any official authority, the city said in a tweet.
