Santos awards big contract for $4.7b gas project – The Australian Financial Review
The final go-ahead for Santos’ Barossa gas project off the north coast is only weeks away after the award of a major contract for a production vessel.

BW Offshore, an Oslo-based provider of offshore production ships, put the value of the initial 15-year firm term of the contract at $US4.6 billion.
The awarding of the contract is a major endorsement for the pending FID commitment for the Barossa project, said RBC Capital Markets analyst Gordon Ramsay. He estimates the cost of LNG supply from Barossa is about $US5.50 per million British thermal units, making it the lowest-cost new supply of LNG in the Australasian region.
