Salvos suspend admissions to three Qld drug and alcohol withdrawal management units

The Salvation Army has suspended admissions to drug and alcohol detox units at facilities in Brisbane, Townsville and the Gold Coast amid work stoppages by nurses.

Queensland Nurses and Midwives’ Union secretary Beth Mohle said “scores” of “desperate clients” were being turned away from the three rehabilitation facilities as a result of protected industrial action by nurses over pay and professional development.
