SA Labor secretary apologises for ‘racist’ Habib flyer after former MP speaks out

The South Australian Labor Party’s state secretary has apologised for the first time for a “racist” flyer put out just before the 2014 election campaign.

The contentious flyer was widely criticised for being racist after it targeted the last name of Liberal candidate, Carolyn Habib.

It questioned “Can you trust Habib?” and included images of bullet holes.

Ms Habib has since married and changed her name to Carolyn Power after winning the seat of Elder against Labor MP Annabel DIgance in 2018.
