Russia reports world’s first case of human infections with H5N8 bird flu, WHO ‘gathering more information’
Russia has registered the first case of the H5N8 bird flu strain being passed to humans from birds and has reported the matter to the World Health Organization (WHO).

The nation’s consumer health watchdog Rospotrebnadzor made the announcement on Saturday after seven workers at a poultry plant in Russia’s south were confirmed to be infected with bird flu.
