‘Rugby league saved my life’: Badger bows out with message of hope – Sydney Morning Herald
As he prepares to officiate his final match this weekend, veteran referee Gavin Badger has opened up about how rugby league saved him from a dark place.

That was the moment that prompted Badger, who will be officiating in the NRL for the final time in the Panthers-Bulldogs clash on Saturday, to speak for the first time about a burden he had been carrying from the age of 11.
That Badger is a survivor of child sex abuse.
