Royal commission into gambling in WA reveals entire industry’s regulation is to be examined
A royal commission into Crown Perth in WA will examine the regulation of the entire gambling industry in the state, it has been revealed.

- The Royal Commission was called after a damning report from Victoria
- Money laundering and organised crime links were alleged
- The initial WA report is expected to be delivered in June
The Perth Casino Royal Commission began with a brief public hearing today, ahead of more substantive hearings set to get underway in May.
Former WA Supreme Court judge Neville Owen, who oversaw the royal commission into the collapse of insurance giant HIH insurance, is chairing the casino commission.
WA Supreme Court judge Lindy Jenkins and former WA auditor-general Colin Murphy are the other two commissioners.
