Walker did not travel to the Gold Coast for the Crows clash with North Melbourne on Saturday after coming down with a bout of gastro.
Walker is expected to rejoin Crows training next week.
Despite what seemed as a like-for-like replacement in Darcy Fogarty named as a travelling emergency – after weeks out with a shoulder injury – the Crows have gone with the young ruckman Strachan to replace Walker.
