Panthers halfback Nathan Cleary has been ruled out of the clash with the Storm on Thursday after copping a head knock last weekend.
The club announced on Wednesday that due to the five-day turnaround, he would not be able to play in the grand final rematch. Young gun Matt Burton is waiting in the wings and will replace him in the game-day 17.
“Naths actually really good but hes not playing. The system and protocols made the decision for us,” his father, Panthers coach Ivan Cleary said on Wednesday.
