To learn that a lot of other deaf people experience similar frustrations has been one of the great benefits in the Get Connected program run by Deaf Children Australia. Its an online forum set up during the pandemic for deaf kids aged 12-15, run by deaf or hard of hearing mentors, aged 19-26.
Normally, they would visit the kids in the community for face-to-face activities but COVID has forced them to interact online instead.
