Restrictions to be eased Thursday after Queenslanders’ ‘mighty job’

Restrictions will be eased across Queensland on Thursday morning, following almost a fortnight of zero community-transmission cases.

Two new cases were confirmed on Wednesday, both arrivals from Papua New Guinea who tested positive in hotel quarantine, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk confirmed.

Dancing will be allowed indoors, outdoors and at weddings from 6am Thursday.

Ms Palaszczuk said “Queenslanders have done a mighty job” and restrictions would be able to ease again after the threat of Brisbane’s latest outbreak subsided.

From 6am Thursday, masks will no longer be mandatory, except at airports, and patrons will be able to stand in bars and clubs.
