Researchers hope new COVID vaccine will cover all known strains – Brisbane Times
The vaccine candidate targets specific parts of the virus’s spike protein, meaning it theoretically is effective against all known strains of COVID-19.

Queensland researchers are hopeful a vaccine they are developing could provide coverage for all the strains of COVID-19.
Scientists from the Institute for Glycomics at Griffith University, along with colleagues from Canada and China, have been working to develop a vaccine that targets specific parts of the viruss spike protein.
The researchers used antibodies from people who had fought off COVID-19 to test which parts of the viral protein they bound to.Credit:Dr Michael Joyce, University of Alberta
