Regis rejects Soul Patts’ $1.85 bid, Scott Farquhar pops up – The Australian Financial Review
Here’s a name we didn’t expect to see emerge in Washington H Soul Pattinson and Co Ltd’s bid to take out ASX-listed aged care operator Regis Healthcare.

The Royal Commission report is expected to be accompanied by funding reform from the Federal Government, which should brighten the outlook for aged care operators.
Soul Patts bid, which was lobbed on Thursday afternoon, was pitched at a 25 per cent premium to Regis’ last close and a 64 per cent premium to the 3-month VWAP, and valued the group’s equity at $556 million.
The company’s shares are trading down 41 per cent year-to-date, and closed at $1.48 on Thursday.
