Recession over? RBA set to signal stronger outlook – The Australian Financial Review
Reserve Bank deputy governor Guy Debelle will be called upon to provide detail about possible plans to remove a liquidity facility for commercial banks.
All the big four banks now expect the recession to soon be over.
“GDP is now forecast to rise by 2 per cent in the September quarter compared to our previous estimate centred on a broadly flat outcome,” CBA’s Gareth Aird said.
“We expect economic output to continue to expand in the December quarter and have pencilled in a 1.8 per cent increase in GDP, largely supported by the reopening of Victoria.”
