Rare posters celebrate Brisbane’s underground music scene of the ’70s and ’80s – Brisbane Times
A new exhibition of handmade music posters and handbills reflect an era when “life was joyful” and gigs were often raided.

“There are a lot of screen-printed ones in the collection, and I love those because theyre colourful and look very handmade,” Ms Hamilton said.
“The production is reasonably amateur, but wonderfully vivid.”

Ms Hamilton said 1977 was a challenging year for creatives.
“Brisbane really suffered from a lack of live music venues, and so it was the era of disco,” she said.
