A Melbourne mum was shocked to discover her $1 gold coin could see her cash in thousands of dollars.
The mum told followers of Facebook group Melbourne with Kidz that she came across a mule dollar.
The coins were created after a technical error by the Australian Mint.
Mule dollars are said to be slightly thicker than a regular $1 coin and have a double rum around the Queens head.
