Rafael Nadal awkwardly revealed news that nobody else knew on Monday night when he shared that Italian rival Matteo Berrettini had withdrawn from the Australian Open.
Berrettini suffered an abdominal strain during his win over Russian Karen Khachanov in the third round on Saturday but was able to continue.
By Monday afternoon, however, he knew he was not fit to face Stefanos Tsitsipas – but only a select few outside his team were aware.
