Queensland’s ex-tropical cyclone Imogen weakening but flood risk to linger for days

Flash flooding in Queensland’s north remains a threat after tropical cyclone Imogen was downgraded to a tropical low.
The system weakened east of the Gulf of Carpentaria on Monday morning after making landfall the previous night.
It crossed the coast as a category one cyclone, bringing strong winds and heavy rainfall to gulf communities.
“It travelled quite slowly across Karumba and Normanton,” Carpentaria Shire Council chief executive Mark Crawley told 7NEWS.com.au.
