Queensland wastewater provides an early-warning system for COVID-19 – Brisbane Times
Sewage testing has been rolled out in 13 communities across the state to detect traces of coronavirus – and it’s already raised the alarm twice.
The state is set to expand its “border bubble” with NSW, adding more postcodes and council areas south of the Tweed to the list of areas NSW residents can visit without quarantining, and vice versa for Queensland residents from 1am on October 1.
A larger reopening of the border with NSW is under review as Queensland prepares to enter caretaker mode in less than two weeks for the October 31 state election.
