Queensland veteran goes from ‘gutted’ to ‘elated’ after father’s lost war medals are found

A Queensland veteran says he is “elated” to be reunited with his father’s war medals, which he lost on his way to march at Brisbane’s main Anzac Day service.
Glen O’Brien missed out on the march after realising he had lost his father’s medals en route from Kippa-Ring train station to the CBD.
“I pinned the medals but mustn’t have pinned them on securely enough. I did not wear my jacket, I just threw it over my shoulder when I got out of my car and walked to the railway station,” he told ABC Radio Brisbane.
“I discovered when I went to put my jacket on that my medals were missing.
