Queensland urges anyone who has been to Greater Melbourne to get COVID tested
Queensland will keep its border with Victoria open but Health Minister Yvette D’Ath has urged anyone who has recently visited Greater Melbourne to get tested for coronavirus and isolate.
Victoria imposed snap restrictions overnight after a hotel quarantine worker in Melbourne yesterday tested positive to COVID-19, with authorities treating the case as community transmission.
It comes as Queensland recorded no new cases in the past 24 hours after more than 8,000 tests.
“We are not declaring Victoria a hotspot .. or putting any border restrictions in place,” Ms D’Ath said.
