Queensland to see a mixed bag of weather this weekend with temps into the 40s, before a cool change

From rain and really hot weather to cool changes and flood warnings, this weekend will keep you on your toes in Queensland.

- The sudden changes in temperature would be felt most in western Queensland
- Birdsville is forecast to hit more than 40C on Saturday
- Showers due to increase across the southern inlsnad
The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) has forecast rain and showers increasing across the southern inland today, with the far west sweltering to up to 42 degrees Celsius.
“What’s going to happen is an increased chance of rainfall with higher rainfall totals expected across a more widespread area from Saturday onwards and an increase in temperatures for people along the coast,” meteorologist Rosa Hoff said.
