Queensland to allow visitors from Sydney from December 1st
Queensland will allow residents from Greater Sydney to enter the state from December 1 in an easing of coronavirus border restrictions.
The announcement means visitors from New South Wales will no longer be required to quarantine for 14 days when entering Queensland.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk met with the Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young this morning.
Ms Palaszczuk said there will be an update on travellers from Victoria tomorrow.
The decision comes after New South Wales went more than 28 days without community transmission of COVID-19.
Currently, visitors from Greater Sydney and Victoria are not allowed to Queensland, unless the areas record 28 days without new COVID-19 cases that can not be traced to another known case.
