Queensland tightens hotel quarantine after Grand Chancellor cluster

Airlines must now also provide private transport for their flight crew to a quarantine hotel instead of catching taxis, and all travel from hotel quarantine must have the express permission of the Chief Health Officer.
Anyone quarantining at home has also been barred from taking taxis or ride-share cars – they must take private vehicles to hospital if they need to visit, and they must wear a face mask.
The changes have been put in place both for people arriving in Queensland from within Australia as well as for international arrivals.
They come in the wake of the report into the Hotel Grand Chancellor cluster, which did not specifically identify the cause of the outbreak but made several recommendations to strengthen hotel quarantine…
