Queensland man killed trying to intervene in taxi rank argument

A Good Samaritan has been killed in north Queensland after he tried to intervene in an argument at a taxi rank during the early hours of Saturday.
Police said about 2.20am, the 28-year-old man tried to step in during the incident on Edith Street in Innisfail, about 70 kilometres south of Cairns.
It will be alleged the incident turned physical when one of the men involved in the argument punched the man numerous times, causing him to fall to the ground and lose consciousness.
A police officer commenced CPR at the scene, but the man was declared dead soon after.
A crime scene has been declared on Edith Street and anyone with information has been urged to contact police.
