Queensland man charged after ‘seeking training, planning terror attack’

“Investigators became concerned about threats the man allegedly made towards a member of the public and executed a search warrant at a property in Kepnock on 3 November 2020.”

Police said “a number of electronic devices and a notebook” were seized at the home, and it will be alleged the devices contained “documents indicating a desire to undertake acts of violent extremism”.

Scott Lee, the AFP Assistant Commissioner of counter-terrorism, said the decision to charge the man “was made to prevent a terrorist attack in Australia and to protect the community”.

The Queensland JCTT includes AFP officers, Queensland Police, and officers from ASIO.
