Queensland imposes new border restrictions after coronavirus cluster in Sydney’s Northern Beaches

Queensland health officials have imposed new border restrictions as a result of the growing coronavirus cluster in Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young late last night declared anyone already in Queensland who had been to Sydney’s Northern Beaches since Friday, December 11, would need to get tested and isolate in their home for 14 days from the date they left the area.

Anyone flying into the state from the cluster area from today must be tested and self-isolate for two weeks, while from tomorrow, passengers will be directed into mandatory self-funded hotel quarantine.

The new restrictions apply to interstate visitors and Queenslanders returning home.
