Queensland Health ordered to audit masks in COVID wards
Key to their concern was the fact mask fitting and checking was not mandated in the same way as vaccinations for frontline health workers.
“We have a situation where there are 16 different HHSs and they can all do whatever they want, and we need the power to direct them, it needs to be a directive [from the Chief Health Officer], for example, just as it is a CHO directive on vaccinations,” Ms Mohle said.
Queensland Health did not respond to requests for comment on Wednesday, however Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the union’s decision to take their concerns to the tribunal was “a matter for them”.
